About Sarah
For most of my life, closeness felt like something to be careful with, not something to lean into. I knew how to care about people, but actually depending on someone, or letting them depend on me, was different. My instinct was to stay guarded, to pull away before things got too close. It wasn’t until later in life, through my relationship with my husband, that I experienced something entirely new, a relationship where I could show up vulnerably, depend on someone, and trust they’d actually be there, again and again. That was secure attachment, and it changed how I understood connection itself. It’s why I do this work. I’ve seen it in my own life, and in decades of research behind Emotionally Focused Therapy, that healing your attachment patterns doesn’t just change one relationship, it changes how you experience yourself and everyone around you.
In session, you’ll find me warm and grounded, with a directness that comes from caring, not criticism. I’m fully present, hyper-focused even, tracking every shift in the room so nothing important gets missed.
I work with couples, individuals, and families, with a focus on families with older teenagers and young adults. I believe relationships are at the center of everything, even when it’s one person in the room, there are dozens of relationships shaping their life, with a partner, kids, colleagues, parents, friends. Changing how you relate changes your whole life.
